The colorful Rooster’s Off to See the World by Eric Carle, the titular character Rooster has tired of living on his farm. One day he decides that he needs to travel and see the beautiful world outside of the farm. But Rooster grows lonely on this outing. When he meets two cats, he comes to invite them on this outing. Then he comes to meet three frogs, four turtles, and so on... what fun! But eventually Rooster realizes that he hasn't thought about concerns such as food or shelter. There is a lot of learning opportunities (including math learning) in this classic tale from Eric Carle.
