Reflections on Early Childhood Learning at 2014 NAEYC Conference

The annual National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Conference took place November 5-8, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. This video, produced by NAEYC with support from Ready Rosie, reveals the biggest ideas people took away from the conference.

After attending the conference for 20 years and with the work that the Erikson Institute has done, I’ve come to the decision that I’m not good at math… I’m awesome at math!

Other attendees brought up other take-aways, such as the idea of talking with children as much as possible throughout the day to reinforce new vocabulary and improve their comfort level with language. A music teacher shares new ways she discovered to incorporate music into other areas, such as storytelling, science, and math.
