Who Comes to Erikson?

Erikson students are remarkably diverse in their professional experiences and backgrounds. They have one thing in common: a shared passion for improving the care and education of young children.

Most admitted students have a background of involvement with young children and their families through jobs, volunteer work, or internships. However, no standard academic background or experience characterizes our students. Successful applicants have included child care administrators, child care workers, teachers, occupational and physical therapists, nurses, attorneys, therapists, social workers, and social service providers. Age and cultural backgrounds are similarly varied.

We believe that the diversity of our student body provides a breadth of perspectives that deepens learning–a singular advantage in the classroom, in the community, and in the field.
